Migrating dashboards from Visual v1 to Visual v2
Previously created dashboards and all their settings/data connections/filters in the legacy Visual module (v1) can easily be migrated to Visual v2 by clicking on the button as shown below.
You can then select the dashboard you want to migrate, give it a title and further set as default/favorite.
Creating a new dashboard
By pressing the green button on the right top of the screen, a new dashboard is created. It is needed to fill in a title, description, options to set it as default or/and favorite and also an option to copy an already existing dashboard.
Dashboards
To "unlock" your dashboard and start editing, you need to click on the edit button in the toolbar.
Once your dashboard is unlocked and in 'Edit' mode, you can start creating/configuring gadgets and pages. Remember to always save your dashboard after editing in order to save changes.
Managing Pages
You are able to create pages in your dashboard. Each page can consist of multiple gadgets (max configuration: 4 horizontally, 3 vertically). When exporting your dashboard in PDF, the pages will be reflected.
You can create a new page either by clicking on the button as shown below:
or by using the 'Page toolbar' which can be found on the side of the gadget. This gives you extra functionality such as moving pages up or down, adding pages before/after and deleting pages.
'Save' Area
When creating gadgets you can bring them to the 'Save' Area which lets you configure and finalise gadgets before adding them to the dashboard. This also allows you to easily move gadgets to next pages (especially useful if you have many pages).
Drill-down Filtering
In Visual v2, you can now filter on drill-down (child) dashboards in order to allow dynamic filtering. You can find the filter option on the top-right corner of the child dashboard to select the data to filter*.
*note that you can only filter data which is used within the gadget you are drilling down on.
