(implemented in version 12.0 - Dec 2023)
More detailed information about the Visual module you may find in this article.
In this article you can find a step-by-step guide on the Visual v2 module.
The dashboard list provides you with a list of all dashboards you have access to. A newly created dashboard will be added to this list.
You can mark a dashboard as "Favorite", which will save the dashboard to the top of the list.
In the top left corner you can toggle on/off "Show only favorites".
The information that is displayed per each dashboard:
|A title of the dashboard. When pressing on it, the dashboard is opened.
|A user who is managing the dashboard.
|The date created.
|A source that is used for the following dashboard.
|The description for the selected dashboard.
|Icon that shows users who has access to the dashboard. Roles can be: viewer, editor, full, owner.
An option to rename the dashboard and add a description to it.
An option to set the dashboard as default. The icon will be marking it. This will be the first dashboard you enter when accessing the Visual v2 module.
Here you can add roles to the users to see the dashboard. Owner can remove users.
An option to send the message with subject and the dashboard attached directly from the website.
An option to duplicate the existing dashboard, rename it, add description and set as favorite or/and default.
An option that can be activated by a switcher, to send a message with the subject and a dashboard attached on a specific time and scheduled period.
An option that converts a dashboard into a pdf file.
An option to delete the following dashboard.
Migrating dashboards from Visual v1 to Visual v2
Previously created dashboards and all their settings/data-connections/filters in the legacy Visual module (v1) can easily be migrated to Visual v2 by clicking on the button as shown below.
You can then select the dashboard you want to migrate, give it a title and further set as default/favorite.
Creating a new dashboard
By pressing the green button on the right top of the screen, a new dashboard is created. It is needed to fill in a title, description, options to set it as default or/and favorite and also an option to copy an already existing dashboard.
In order to "unlock" your dashboard and start editing, you need to click on the edit button in the toolbar.
Once your dashboard is unlocked and in 'Edit' mode, you can start creating/configuring gadgets and pages. Remember to always save your dashboard after editing in order to save changes.
You are able to create pages in your dashboard. Each page can consist of multiple gadgets (max configuration: 4 horizontally, 3 vertically). When exporting your dashboard in PDF, the pages will be reflected.
You can create a new page either by clicking on the button as shown below:
or by using the 'Page toolbar' which can be found on the side of the gadget. This gives you extra functionality such as moving pages up or down, adding pages before/after and deleting pages.
When creating gadgets you can bring them to the 'Save' Area which lets you configure and finalise gadgets before adding them to the dashboard. This also allows you to easily move gadgets to next pages (especially useful if you have many pages).
In Visual v2, you can now filter on drill-down (child) dashboards in order to allow dynamic filtering. You can find the filter option on the top-right corner of the child dashboard to select the data to filter*.
*note that you can only filter data which is used within the gadget you are drilling down on.
|In this section you can select one of the available charts to build.
|Data source you would like to use. You can filter the drop down to display all available data sources or choose between surveys/uploads by clicking on the icon on the left of the Select data field.
|Choose a question or column against which a chart will be created.
|Select math function
Here you can define math manipulations to apply to the chosen data. Depending on the chart type, source type and selected column, the list of available math functions may vary.
Available math functions: Count, Just show, Average, Variance, Median, Affection level, NPS Score.
|Using this setting you can choose how to group your results on a chart. You can group them by some metadata, date or classification results (if you have one applied to your data source). A list of available group options may vary depending on the data source type you’ve chosen.
|2nd group by
This is a second “Group by” setting that allows you to add a rule for grouping your results. It works in the same way as the previous setting, excepting:
“2nd Group by” setting is optional for all chart types, excepting Bubble Chart;
You can select “2nd Group by” only after the first one was applied;
Availability to select data for “2nd Group by” depends on the chosen chart type.
Here you may select the custom date (here is the article with more details) by using the switcher together with the Absolute period (07.11.2023) or Relative period (07.11.2023 00:00:00)
|When switched to Active - it will show the total amount of items that were counted for each bar (applicable for bar chart)
|Custom color set
|Custom Color Set allows applying one of the predefined color schemes to your gadget.
|By enabling this option, gadget's legends will be displayed in their full length.
Settings of the chart specific may depend on the gadget you are creating.
An option that allows creating a child/nested drill-down dashboard.
Please refer to an article for more details.
|An option to activate percentage per category in the gadget.
|Number of decimal digits
|An option to limit digits after the comma (0,12345)
This option allows you to filter your results by metadata in an “AND/OR” mode.
Note: be aware of the amount of the data/columns/drill-down charts you are visualizing in a gadget in order not to exceed the memory limit. Example: if you are about to use drill-down charts - please pay attention to the amount of segments that you need a chart to visualize (e.g. if chart shows 1 bar only, the limit could be 1000 gadgets per dashboard, if chart shows 500 bars - limit could be 150 gadgets due to the memory limit)
