4 | Query selector | Allows to quickly select another query from a drop-down list. Each query contains a different data set. You can create new queries on the "Queries" page. |

Summary
Shows currently applied filters
Lemmata to include
Description: When this filter is applied only text cases which contain the lemmata specified in this filter will be shown.
Example: If the filter is set as on the screenshot above you will only see text cases which contain the lemma agent
.
For more information on AND/OR mode behavior please see this article.
Lemmata to exclude
Description: When this filter is applied text cases which contain the lemmata specified in this filter will be excluded.
Example: If the filter is set as on the screenshot above you will not see text cases which contain the lemma phone
.
For more information on AND/OR mode behavior please see this article.
Answer
This filter is only available when you execute a Feedback Query.
Description: When this filter is applied text cases which contain selected question answers. Question text of questions in VoC Feedback is used to display the list of questions from the survey. Include missing
option allows to include questionnaires where no answer was given to the selected question.
Example: If the filter is set as shown above then you will only see text cases where customers responded with an answer in range from 1 to 2 to a question with question text "How much effort did you need to put into solving your problem?".
Filter by classification result
This filter is only available when you execute a Feedback Query and the survey open question against which the Feedback Query was executed is applied to at least one classifier.
Description: When this filter is applied only text cases which belong to the selected classifier category(-ies) will be shown.
Example: If the filter is set as shown above then you will only see text cases which were classified by classifier "Sentiment" as "Negative".
Texts to include
Description: When this filter is applied only text cases which contain the text specified in this filter will be shown.
Example: If the filter is set as on the screenshot above you will only see text cases which contain occurrences of text agents
. Text cases which contain occurrences of text agent
will not be shown since agent
doesn't match text string agents
completely.
The difference of this option from lemmata filters is that you can find defined text strings instead of lemmata generated from customer responses. For example, if you want to find mention of "agents" (plural) you can't do that with lemmata search since "agents" will be lemmatized to "agent". You need to use "Texts to include" filter in such cases.
Texts to exclude
Description: When this filter is applied text cases which contain occurrences of text specified in this filter will be excluded.
Example: If the filter is set as on the screenshot above you will not see text cases which contain occurrences of text customers
. Text cases which contain text customer
will be shown since customer is only a partial match of customers.
For more information on the difference between lemmata and text search please see description in "Texts to include" filter.
Filter by date
Description: When this filter is applied you will see text cases which were captured during the selected date range.
For Custom queries upload date is defined by the date and time of actual upload or it can be overridden with "Captured at" option during upload.
For Feedback queries upload date is derived from "End date" of the actual questionnaire.
Example: If the filter is set as shown on screenshot you will only see responses with upload date from August 3rd, 2016 until September 14th, 2016.
Filter by attribute
Description: When this filter is applied you will see text cases which contain the selected values of attributes.
For custom queries attributes can be specified in the additional columns of the import file.
For Feedback queries attributes are taken from the metadata columns which were specified in the original import file for the survey.
Include missing
option allows to include responses without any attribute values to the current selection.
Example: If the filter is set as shown on the screenshot you will only see responses from customers with Detractor
as the value of the attribute "NPS Segment" in the uploaded data. In other words, if the customer had "Detractor" value in the "NPS Segment" column in the customer's row they will be included in the selection.
Synonym dictionaries
This filter is only shown if there is at least one synonym dictionary available
Description: When a synonym dictionary is applied it groups certain lemmata into one.
For more information on how synonym dictionaries work please see this article.
Stop words
This filter is only shown if there is at least one stop word dictionary available
Description: When a stop word dictionary is applied it excludes certain lemmata from lemmata view.
For more information on how stop word dictionaries work please see this article.
2. View selector
If "Lemmata" is selected in the Toolbar, view selector allows you to choose between different representations of lemmata for current selection of responses. Filters affect the amount of lemmata shown since they are derived from the text responses of the current selection.
Cloud
(Default) Shows the most frequent lemmata as a word cloud
"Lemmata in cloud" slider allows to adjust the amount of lemmata displayed on the screen at once. The weight (size) of lemmata is automatically adjusted depending on the amount of lemmata shown and frequency of occurrence of each lemma.
Table
Shows the most frequent lemmata as a table.
Each lemma has a related group of buttons next to it:
| Adds the lemma to "Lemmata to include" list |
| Adds the lemma to "Lemmata to exclude" list |
Chart
Shows the most frequent lemmata as a series of horizontal bar charts
3. Toolbar
Toolbar allows you to work with the data output.
Lemmata
This view is active by default. This view allows you to get a glimpse on lemmata which is mentioned most often in the current query. See previous "View selector" chapter for additional information on various ways to visualize the lemmata.
Hint: Click on the word in the word cloud to quickly add it to "Lemmata to include" list.
Text cases (# of cases)
This view allows to take a look at individual text cases of your query. Each entry is clickable. When you click the text case additional information is displayed in a special panel.

Export for verification
Allows to export current selection of text cases (filtered as well) to VoC Classify for verification.

Here's the description of available elements:
Element | Description |
Text | Text of the text case itself. This is a mandatory field. |
Date |
Capture date of the text case:
|
Lemmatization | Provides a comma-separated list of all lemmata generated for each text case |
Metadata |
Includes associated metadata columns which were provided:
|
Answers |
If customer responded to other questions in the same survey answers to those questions will be shown here |
Classification results |
If there is one or more applied classifiers linked to the question this text case belongs to they will be included into the resulting export file with the classification result |
Downloading the resulting export is easy. When you click the "Initiate export" button a request is sent to VoC Mine backend and is then processed by the system. Once the export is ready, you will see a notification in the top right corner.
Click the button and you will see a new notification panel appear. Click the "Your query name (mine export texts) is ready" link to download the resulting export file.
Export lemmas
Allows to export lemmas from current selection of text cases to an .xlsx file. The resulting file contains two columns - lemma
and count
:
- Column
lemma
contains each lemma analyzed from the current selection of text cases. - Column
count
contains the amount of occurrences for the lemma
To download the export file just click the "Export lemmas" link in the dropdown and follow the same steps as described above.
4. Query selector
A simple dropdown which allows to quickly switch between different queries
Queries are separated by source: Custom queries and Feedback queries.
5. Filter view
Shows currently selected filters
Hint: Make sure to click "Apply filters" button to filter current selection of text cases against the displayed filters.
6. Lemmata view
Displayed by default as a cloud. See "View selector" options to learn how to switch between different Lemmata view modes.
