What happened?
In certain cases SMS reminders could have been sent multiple times despite having strict Reminders configuration i.e. to send one reminder only. The problem affected gateways that were tough to handle invitations and reminders at the same time or in cases when the gateway was unreachable.
Affected period of time 29.09.2022 - 10.03.2023
Why did it happen?
It happens to be a production bug that wasn't tracked down. It's related to release 11.12.0.
What were we doing to resolve the issue?
After the problem was located the team has issued the hotfix within a day.
What are we doing to avoid such issues?
The notice was delivered to QA team to develop a solution to cover such situation. Additionally we will pay specific attention in testing processes where some errors in a process could be masked with next steps of a process, where standard end-to-end tests can't detect errors
