New URL generation algorithm for surv.biz

What are the changes?

Since May 25, 2018 20:00 PM CET SandSIV has switched to a new algorithm of generating short links.

Short URLs are now generated randomly given the following set of characters: [a-zA-Z0-9]. Each identifier (the part after https://surv.biz/) of the link always contains 8 characters.

Example: https://surv.biz/7oQSc60k. This link leads to https://sandsiv.com website.

What are the implications?

• Previously generated links are not affected.
• All new links are generated according to a new algorithm.

What is a URL Shortener?

URL Shorterner is hosted on surv.biz domain and is a special service which is provided in certain parts of VoC Feedback. Short links are currently used in:

• Static survey links (mostly used for testing purposes)
• SMS messages to navigate the customer to the WEB survey
