VoC Classify allows classifying open text responses by several categories of a classifier at once.
Multitopic classification works with sources that were applied to a classifier: VoC Feedback surveys and VoC Store uploads. When applying a classifier to a source, you can choose the column (question) to apply your classifier to and choose the "Multitopic" option below the column (question title).
After you check the Multitopic option, you will be prompted to select a threshold and a number of categories.
Threshold is a number that represents the sensitivity of your classifier. This means, that an open text response will be classified into all categories with the probability higher than the chosen value.
Number of categories is a customized number of classifier's categories your open text responses will be classified into. In case an open text response can be classified into a number of categories that exceeds this limit, categories with the highest probability value will be chosen as classification results.
Let's combine these two settings and take a look at the following example:
Your classifier contains 5 categories. When applying this classifier to your data source, you chose 0.2 as a Threshold and 3 in the Number of categories. This means, that open text responses applied to this classifier will be classified into all categories that have higher probability than 0.2, but there can be not more than 3 of them.
After setting the Multitopic classification settings, complete Classifier Appliance by clicking on the Apply button. All your current and upcoming open text responses will be classified or re-classified by several categories at once.
