Matrix Questions are the new Question types in DIGI Channel. They allow to unite several questions that share the same answer scale and display them in a form of a table.
There are two types of Matrix Questions: Matrix Scalable and Matrix Configurable. Matrix Scalable question allows uniting Scalable Questions, while Matrix Configurable unites Configurable questions. See below the examples of Matrix Scalable and Matrix Configurable questions.
Matrix Scalable question
Matrix Configurable question
To create a Matrix Scalable question, go to the survey, select DIGI Channel and click on the Add Question button. Then, select MatrixScalable in the Type drop-down
Then, edit the question as a regular Scalable question: add Question Title, Question Text, number of values on the scale, etc, and save the question. In the Questions List page, you'll see that a new question with the type "MATRIXSCALABLE" was created. The question text set in the question will be displayed on top of the matrix and the answer scale set in the question will be common for all questions nested underneath.
To add a subquestion to the Matrix Question, click on the "plus" icon that reads "Add subquestion" to the right of the question type:
A new question will have the pre-selected Scalable type (as the parent Matrix question type is Scalable), scale settings (similar to the parent question's), as well as some other settings. What would be possible to modify in the question are Question Title, Question External ID, Question Text, Error Text, and the "Required" checkbox.
After you populate the question, Save it. This new question will be displayed "under" the Matrix Scalable.
Add several more subquestions to the Matrix Question to get a result similar to the example shown at the beginning of the article.
Matrix Configurable question works in the same way as Matrix Scalable, with the only difference that Matrix Configurable question contains settings of Configurable questions and only Configurable questions may be added as its subquestions.
